Thank You for contacting Cenla Alliance for Animals to help rescue a dog in need! We are very excited to help you find a new family friend!!!
Below, please find the application to be completed if you are interested in adopting one of our rescue dogs. We receive many inquires each day so I recommend that you complete your application as soon as possible. Applicants are not chosen on a first come first serve basis, rather, our goal is to find the home that best fits for the dog.
Our goal at the Cenla Alliance for Animals is to take great care of our rescue dogs as they wait to find their “Furever Home”. All of our dogs have been vaccinated for rabies, parvo/distemper and Bordetella. They are heartworm negative and are on heart worm prevention. All of our rescues have been neutered/spayed and have been micro chipped. Plus, they all receive a final examination from our local vet prior to adoption.
A few things to consider before applying to adopt:
A complete application is required to start the adoption process and submission of an application does not guarantee the adoption of a dog.
We understand that our application is lengthy and we appreciate your patience as we work to make sure you and the pet you choose is a perfect match!
When completing the application, please be willing to elaborate on how you will handle exercise, potty breaks and training.
CAFA focuses on finding good matches between dogs and families to ensure lifelong adoptions.
The speed at which your application is processed for adoption is dependent largely on how thoroughly and specifically you answer each question. Please do not leave any applicable question blank. Please include a detailed explanation for any question where you are asked to elaborate an answer.
A verifiable history of vetting is required for all current and previous pets. This includes a verifiable history of appropriate wellness visits, immunizations, heart worm testing and a verifiable history of administering heart worm prevention to all dogs.
All household members should be in agreement about the decision to adopt and be willing to play an active role in the adoption process.
There is no fee to apply.
Our adoption fee is $525 for puppies & adult dogs or $325 for seniors. This fee includes the transportation charge from Louisiana.
If for any reason whatsoever the adopter(s) cannot or will not keep an animal, the animal must be returned to Cenla Alliance for Animals.
Instructions for completing the application:
Please include information for all household members.
You must be at least 23 years of age to submit an adoption application.
CAFA reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone without disclosing the reasons.
